So....
If you didn't know, I am secretly an underground hippie/ indie kid/ liberal. Surprise!
But lately I've been thinking how I could be less of a consumer and more of a giver (both in a physical sense and in my relationships with people), so I've decided to start with water.
I'm embarrassed to admit that my usual shower takes between 25 and 35 minutes. But this week I have cut it down to under 10 minutes.
Now with laundry. Today I went to do my laundry and I realized the change machine was broken (again. Me and the change machine have been engaged in guerrilla warfare for some time now.), and I only had enough change for 2 washers. (I do my laundry every 2 weeks and usually use 4-5 washers). So, as I sorted through my clothes to determine which ones were absolutely necessary for this upcoming week, I was surprised by how many worn but not-really-dirty clothes were in my hamper.
So, from now on I will my non-dirty clothes back on hangers and in drawers instead of in my hamper and on my floor. And save $4.50 and lots of water and electricity.
And it only took me 21 years to figure out why my mom told me to hang up my church clothes instead of throwing them on my floor. Sometimes I wonder how I got into college....

I've always been told that someday your kids will appreciate something that you told them and tried to teach them--but I thought I would have to wait until you had kids of your own! Keep up the good work! You'll have to read the National Geographic article this month on CO2 emissions...it is hard to change old habits, but I guess it is important to just get started; even if it is only in small ways...
Wow! That's pretty impressive! btw where were you today in dance? We did this insane floor routine.
